WHY COST+

At Volume, Viva's 'Dynamic Pricing' Costs You More.

Viva Wallet's pricing looks competitive until you read the fine print. On top of their 2.19% + €0.18 online rate, they charge €0.03 per 3D Secure authentication — a mandatory step for European e-commerce.
Your total cost per transaction with Cost+ = Interchange (set by Visa/Mastercard) + Card Scheme Fee + our 0.50% margin + €0.15 authorization fee. Our auth fee already includes 3DS authentication.
And if a customer requests a refund? Viva keeps your original processing fees and charges an additional €0.30.
With Cost+, 3DS is included, and refund fees are a flat €0.25.
Viva Wallet markets 'dynamic pricing' as a feature, but at 2.19% online, there's nothing dynamic about overpaying. On €500K in annual online volume, you'd pay ~€11,450 with Viva.
With Cost+ IC++ pricing on a typical EU card mix, total fees dropto under €5,500. Through direct acquirer partnerships, we don't add hidden layers — just transparent interchange passthrough.
Every Cost+ transaction is itemized: Interchange + Card Scheme Fee + 0.50% margin + €0.15 auth fee. 3DS included. No surprise per-authentication charges.

Frequently Asked Questions

Transaction fees, 3D Secure charges, refund policies, and high-risk acceptance compared.
What does Viva Wallet charge for online transactions?
Viva Wallet charges 2.19% + EUR 0.18 for online EEA transactions — one of the highest rates in Europe. On top of that, Viva adds a EUR 0.03 per 3D Secure authentication fee. Cost+ includes 3DS in its EUR 0.15 auth fee with no additional charge.
How much can I save switching from Viva Wallet to Cost+?
On EUR 500,000 annual online volume, Viva Wallet costs approximately EUR 11,450 in processing fees, while Cost+ costs under EUR 5,500 — a saving of roughly EUR 6,000 per year, or about 52% less.
Does Viva Wallet charge extra for 3D Secure authentication?
Yes. Viva Wallet charges EUR 0.03 per 3D Secure authentication on top of their blended transaction rate. Since 3DS is mandatory for most EU e-commerce transactions under PSD2, this hidden fee adds up quickly. Cost+ includes 3DS authentication at no extra cost within its EUR 0.15 authorization fee.
What is Viva Wallet's refund policy compared to Cost+?
Viva Wallet keeps the original processing fees on refunded transactions and adds an extra EUR 0.30 refund fee. Cost+ charges a flat EUR 0.25 refund fee (bank cost only) and waives our percentage markup on refunds, making Cost+ significantly cheaper for merchants handling frequent refunds.
Does Viva Wallet accept high-risk merchants?
Viva Wallet has a very narrow risk appetite and generally does not support specialized verticals. Cost+, as a licensed ISO/TSP with direct banking relationships, provides dedicated MIDs for high-risk industries including CBD, iGaming, forex, and SaaS.
