Visa & Mastercard — Payment Method

The Power of Global Schemes. The Transparency of Cost+.

IC++ shows actual interchange and scheme costs separately from Cost+’s margin and fixed fees. Blended pricing combines those variable costs into the published rate for the relevant card category. The better fit depends on your card mix and preference for cost detail.

Frequently Asked Questions

IC++ rates, markup transparency, global coverage, and 3D Secure inclusion for card transactions.
What are the IC++ interchange rates for EU debit and credit cards?
For consumer-card transactions within the EU/EEA interchange regulation’s scope, the caps are 0.2% for debit and 0.3% for credit. Actual interchange may be lower. Commercial cards and out-of-scope transactions differ; scheme fees and Cost+ charges are additional. EU 2015/751
How does IC++ differ from blended pricing for Visa and Mastercard?
IC++ shows actual interchange and scheme costs separately from Cost+’s margin and fixed fees. Blended pricing combines those variable costs into the published rate for the relevant card category. The better fit depends on your card mix and preference for cost detail.
Does Cost+ mark up interchange or scheme fees?
No. Under IC++, Cost+ passes interchange and scheme fees through at their actual cost. Cost+’s own margin and fixed fees are shown separately, so you can distinguish network costs from the payment service’s charges.
Does Cost+ support Visa and Mastercard globally?
Cost+ can process eligible internationally issued Visa and Mastercard cards. Availability depends on the merchant country, card, currency and business activity supported by the acquiring agreement; it does not mean every merchant or transaction in every country is eligible.
Are 3D Secure fees included for Visa and Mastercard transactions?
Yes. Cost+ charges no separate 3D Secure fee. On IC++ and blended, the authorization fee applies to each attempt, including unsuccessful attempts; the processing gateway fee, where applicable, applies only to successful transactions.
